DRARCF CHECK PRESENTATIONS 2007
Members of the Down River Association of Realtors® (DRAR) Community Outreach Committee agree that this is their favorite meeting of the year, the meeting where they have the opportunity to disburse funds to local charities. The Community Outreach Committee (COC) works all year to raise money for the Down River Association of Realtors® Charitable Foundation (DRARCF). Margaret Nykiel, DRAR President, and Dawn McCarty, chairman of the Community Outreach Committee met with representatives of the charities and presented them with donations. Members of the committee were also at the meeting.
Recently the following representatives visited the DRAR office for the check presentations on behalf of their companies: Kurt Sebaly of Penrickton Center for Blind Children, John S. Bell of Hospice of Michigan, Drema Sue Raupp of the Children's Resource Network, Michael Lott and Betty Priskorn of The Guidance Center, William P. Walsh of Community Care Services, Sister Margaret of St. Cyprian's Food Pantry, Jim Carey of Special Days Camp for Children and Marian Watt of Operation Quiet Comfort. In addition to the check presentations, the DRARCF also supported Habitat for Humanity, Gleaners Community Food Bank and ALS of Michigan, Inc.
A total of $16,000.00 was divided between the charities. This was made possible by several fundraisers including a Spa Lock-Up, Golf Outing and Reverse Raffle and Auction.
The DRARCF is a registered 501(c)(3) charity and established in 2002. Their mission statement is "The Down River Association of Realtors® Charitable Foundation (DRARCF) is dedicated to ensuring that the needs of the Downriver area are met through "Habitat for Humanity" home builds and community outreach programs. We depend on Realtors®, community volunteers and financial contributors to meet our goals."
